At approximately 11:00 AM, Wednesday July 28th, there was a brush fire at the Palisades Recreation Center in Potrero Canyon. The Palisades Tennis Center is located in the Palisades Recreation Center.

The fire was primarily in the 33 acre tract of canyon parkland that stretches approximately a half a mile to the ocean from the tennis courts.

Flames did make it to the back of some of the courts and there were windscreens that were burned in the fire.

No people were injured and at this point in time there is seemingly no major structural damage.

There were approximately 50 kids playing tennis at the Palisades Tennis Center Junior Camp. At the first sight of smoke and flames, the kids were taken out of harms way.

Approximately 100 firefighters came to attack the blaze including 3 water dropping helicopters.
